INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
RESTORATION++
GENERAL
Our internship program is designed to accommodate novice trainees in the field of diving and conservation. Reef Restoration, Community Outreach, Eco-Tourism, Marketing, and other focus areas available.
Length: 2-4 weeks (short-term)
8 weeks+ (long-term)
Start dates: individual
Expectations:
- Participate in coral restoration dives
- Help with coral planting workshops
- Support project logistics
Prerequisites:

No previous diving or restoration experience required
RESTORATION & RESEARCH
A field-based program designed for marine biology students, graduates, and early-career marine scientists seeking real-world experience in coral reef conservation.
Length: 4 weeks (extension avail.)
Start dates: Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct
Expectations:
- Participate in coral restoration dives
- Help with coral planting workshops
- Support project logistics
- Training on science methodologies used by Livingseas research team
- Record initial restoration metrics
- Collect scientific long-term monitoring data
- Assist research team with various research projects
Prerequisites:
- Completed or studying a degree in Marine/ Environmental Science
- Basic knowledge of Indo-Pacific reef fish + coral families (Preferred)
- SSI/PADI Advanced Open Water diver (or equivalent from another certifying agency). Can be completed at Livingseas for an additional fee
- Minimum 1 month internship duration
- Personal laptop
INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER
Academic applicants with an external supervisor, looking to complete a research project.
Length: project dependent
Start dates: individual
Expectations:
- Participants are independent and arrive with their own project.
