FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS

Training locals for locals

EDUCATION IS KEY TO A BETTER FUTURE

Knowledge enables informed choices, opens horizons and helps people to strive for improvement.  Our Fellowship programs equip local youths with the skills needed to play an active role in fighting climate change, restoring coral reefs and implementing sustainable waste management solutions.

"EDUCATION is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

Nelson Mandela

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS

Our programs follow a holistic approach of analyzing and understanding the issue as well as looking at the bigger picture. They are tailor-made to the most pressing environmental issues related to our mission and aligned to our partners’ philosophy and business needs.

TUi Care Foundation Fellowship

The TUi Care Foundation Fellowship is focused on sustainable eco-tourism. The program includes dive training, instruction in reef restoration methods, as well as a seagrass project. Participants are trained in public speaking and gain valuable presentation skills. An integral part of the program is the presentation of learnings to staff and visiting tourists in dedicated partner hotels.

Handprint Fellowship

The Handprint Fellowships focuses on educating young adults in marine restoration work. This program is ongoing and includes dive training, fish and coral identification as well as educating local communities about the importance of marine conservation work.

Carbon Ethics Fellowship

The focus of the Carbon Ethics Fellowship is empowerment of young women, climate change and carbon footprint reduction. The program includes dive training, coral identification and instruction in reef restoration methods. Participants are trained in public speaking and gain valuable presentation skills. An integral part of the program is the presentation of learnings to local community groups.

Waste Management Fellowship

This new program is designed to address the pressing issue of plastic waste and brings local communities into the cycle of “identify-sort-separate-recycle”.

Participants are trained in public speaking and gain valuable presentation skills.  They hold regular talks in public schools on the topic of plastic waste and its impact on the environment.
