As we continue to restore the reef in Padangbai, Bali, we have set ourselves an ambitious target: to plant half a million corals by the end of 2026. This incredible initiative brings together a diverse community of visitors, volunteers, ocean enthusiasts, conservationists, businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, influencers, bloggers, social media followers and local communities from across the globe and Indonesia.
TOGETHER, WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING THIS VISION A REALITY AND REVITALIZING OUR PRECIOUS OCEAN ECOSYSTEMS.
Livingseas has been restoring coral reefs in Bali since 2019. In the beginning, we experimented with substrates and restoration methods, planting only a limited number of corals. However, in 2024, we launched our unique coral pontoon, which allows us to welcome visitors and volunteers from around the world. Since then, our restoration site has expanded significantly. This year, we aim to reach 500,000 corals planted - yes, half a million! We are making progress, but still have a way to go.
Participants of Coral Workshops, Coral Snorkeling Tours, Conservation Dives and visitors to the Livingseas Coral Restoration Site in Padangbai, Bali, reflect on their experiences.
